I'll be traveling in April but I'm sure I could fit in a fun play night with some ST friends. It might give some of the local IB peeps a chance to meet up with us as well.

Anyone interested? Could be swell. Wine

Title updated at Kathy's request.

You know David and I are always up for a fun L.A. evening. Didn't RobertR say something once about a wine bar in Culver City?, tho you know I'm much happier on the east side of town Roll Eyes

That sounds fun!

I am partial to the East side, too...but, you know, "have car, will travel"(slow...especially in LA at rush hour).

Alrighty! We have a few onboard and I'm sure there will be more to come. It would be nice to see Robert R. and perhaps the ever lovely Elizabeth might be around to play if she isn't in Rome.

Justine, it'll be damn fine to meet you eventually. You too, Leonora!

I'm game to go wherever. If we had a house to use that might make it easier. Potlucks are always fun...

Let's keep seeing who pops up and then we'll pick a spot. I see quality play time in our futures. Garlic Man

I'm excited to meet you guys, too!

I'm in Silverlake, but work near the beach...so anywhere works, really.

Looking forward to it!

I rarely check the board for GTG's.Is anyone following this thread? We could do a GTG
in Culver City. There are two wine bars that I know of one is a place where you get a card and can sample small tasts of wine, each is priced based on the cost of the serving from
less than 2 dollars up to high end stuff. I went there once but just briefly to check it out
I not sure of the name really. Then there is a place Bottle rocket or something on Main I just walked in once. Do you want me to investigate further?

An alternative is to do a sushi day.But for me in most cases it is a very expensive proposition. When I hungry I can easily eat 20 orders(not pieces! a California roll is one)
there is a really good sushi Place with all you can eat in CC but you need to sit at the bar, so it only works with 4 or less. It's called Otom and is on Sepulveda.

Not that I mind really but am I the only guy interested?

Wednesday is not good. What day are "we" thinking? Rr

Waiting for Ms. Teachick to return from frolicking in Guatemala Cool.

Glad you found this Robert. Wine bar, then dinner sounds good. I think you're right about sushi, in that I think there will be more than 4 of us when we get a date.

Thursdays, until early June, are not good for us since we are taking a conversational Italian class, it starts tomorrow. How does Friday, May 2 sound?

Teachick returning from frolicking in Guatemala here. Cool

I like the wine bar idea as it was what I was kicking around IF we didn't do a potluck type thing at someone's house. I like the house idea because we can kick back, drink, eat and make merry SLOWLY. That said, this little tutu only has a wee apartment otherwise I'd host away!

I say some time next month and on a weekend night. Thoughts?

And Robert, so glad you found us! I was going to PM you to ask you to come out and play.

I might volunteer my house, BUT I'm afraid that MRS. Rainey is not too anxious to have a GTG there. May 2nd does not work, I will be on my Way to Lone Pine for the WWW 50K.

Remember Friday LA traffic is brutal!. May 9th? I will investigate wine bar city soon. I mean culver city wine bars. RR

We have company arriving the weekend of May 9th. Friday May 30th? Saturday May 31?

Robert, do look into the wine bars of Culver City. And Kathy has mentioned a Brazilian place she likes in that area. Germs of a plan.

I'm a bit on hold for dates right now due to unforeseen family issues and am waiting to find out when I have to go back east again. I know that a Friday or Saturday night would be fine no matter what, so let's aim for that.

I haven't been to Bamboo in a while, but it's a fun place with fabulous food. Their Yucatan chicken makes me crazy! It is beyond delicious...

I like the Bottlerock idea! It looks great to me. I always like wine tasting and then small plates to go along with it and the menu looks pretty extensive and quite delish. Works for me!

Kathy, If we do that we might be "forced" to go over to Ugo for a gellato!

So a Saturday Pm wine tasting is good? RR

Robert, that sounds perfect to me. And you won't have to twist this sista girl's arm to get her over to Ugo for some gelato! Big Grin

This all sounds pretty good, so if you could wait until the weekend at the end of May, we could join you. We're probably good in early June, too.
