There are a few of us that will be in Venice at the end of March... let's set up a GTG!
Sharon leaves the 25th, and Colleen and I arrive the 24th. So we could meet on the 24th, but I don't know what condition we (I) will be in. Sharon, do you want to be a part of the GTG? Maybe drinks before you go off to La Riviera?
Alternatively we could plan on the 25th or 26th.
Also, I'll be working on perfecting a pub-crawl tour and I need guinea pigs. You'll need to follow me around for the better part of an afternoon and evening. Interested parties, email me. This experiment will happen at least once between 3/27 and 4/4.
Let's make a plan!

Shannon, Absolutely! I'd love to do a Venice GTC. We can meet for a drink anytime that day/early evening. (I'm sorry I won't be around for your pub tour.) I'd also be happy to host in the apartment I'm renting, which is in Campo S. Agnese. Sharon
Hi Shannon and Sharon, We arrive in Venice on March 24 and leave on March 28th. I would be interested in a GTG. Just name the time and place and I will try to work it into our itinerary. We are staying in an apartment in the Dorsoduro.
Shannon, we would be interested in following you for a portion of your pub crawl, but we are traveling with my parents and my 17 year old daughter and they may not want to participate. Maybe my stepmom and daughter would like to do a little shopping, so my husband and I could do this. I think my dad would enjoy a pub crawl also. We can't get too crazy on 3/27 though because we leave early on 3/28.
BTW, Thanks so much for your suggestion of Il Refolo restaurant. We ate there twice in June and it was our best meal in Venice!

Laurie and Sharon, let's plan on something for sure on the 24th so Sharon can get in on it. Colleen and I won't even arrive until around 3:30 PM so we couldn't really get anywhere till 6 or so. Sharon are you still planning on La Riviera that night?
Why don't we meet somewhere for drinks (La Cantina?) and then whoever wants to can move on to pizza... would that work? Unless everyone wants to go to Sharon's for drinks and then on.
I think we should plan on a pub crawl on the Saturday after, or do an early one on the 27th. Up to you...

Shannon, I'll move La Riviera to the 23rd, so we won't have to cut the GTC short. I think it'll be lots of fun to end my Venice visit with a Slow Travel GTG.

Either one works for me. My apartment isn't too far from Billa, so it won't be a problem to gather some snacks and wine if people want to start there.
This is fun. Gee, a reason to get even more excited about going back to Venice... Sharon
How about drinks at Sharon's and then a dinner at Casin dei Nobili? Too bad Il Refolo won't be open yet. Casin dei Nobili is close to Sharon, though. (And they have pizza and pasta and all kinds of other stuff so I can get my pizza fix the first night without putting everyone else out )
I am open to all suggestions though. Casin dei Nobili would be really easy to get to from Sharon's place, hence the suggestion.

Shannon, I love Casin dei Nobili. I've had some great food there--and their pizzas are good, so you can get your fix.
I'll have to get a ST keychain or something from Pauline to hang on the apartment doorknob. Sharon (it's fun checking in here while the Christmas cookies bake...)
Hi Sharon and Shannon, Oh No!! Il Refolo isn't open, yet?!!My mouth was watering for their bruschetta!
Sharon, we are practically neighbors in Venice. Our apartment is on Delle Fornace. Just a short walk in the direction of Salute church.
Shannon, your plan sounds like a good one. Sharon, we are a party of 5. Me, My husband, daughter, dad and stepmom. Will it be too overwhelming if we all show up at your apartment? Or you could both come to our apartment. We are staying in the Palazzetto da Schio.
Dinner at Casin de Noboli sounds good! We have eaten there once and enjoyed it. I had my first glass of limoncello there.
Do you have a time in mind? Wow! Now I am really looking forward to our first night in Venice!

This sounds like it is coming along nicely... how about drinks at 6 and dinner at 8 or 8:30?
Laurie, I would LOVE to see your apartment. Maybe we can do that at another time, if it is not inconvenient. I have heard such great things about that place.
Il Refolo doesn't open till May 1, I think... but I could email and ask them.
Laurie, I think my apartment can handle the 5 of you--we'll take turns sitting on the chairs. Seriously, it shouldn't be a problem.
Shannon, your plan sounds good. I'd be happy to make the reservations. They are open that night, right? I think this will be a great way to celebrate the first night and last night in Venice! Sharon
Hi Sharon and Shannon, This sounds like it will work out great! Drinks at 6:00 and dinner at 8:00 or 8:30 sounds great to me.
Sharon, I would like to see your apartment too. We have stayed with Mrs. Da Schio before, but in a different apartment.
Maybe we could have a progressive drink party before dinner. Everyone come to our apartment at 6:00 and your apartment at 7:00, dinner at 8:00 or 8:30. What do you think?

Laurie, I thought I anwered this and just realized that I hadn't! Blame in on holiday madness.
Let's firm up our plans closer to the date--I'm sure that you, like me, can't wait to get back to Venice! Drinks wherever we decide and dinner to follow. That sounds like a great plan to me.
Enjoy your New Year's. My family has learned to love prosecco, so we'll be popping a few corks. Sharon
Darn, darn, darn. I won't be at Contessa da Schio's palazzetto until September, 2006. I would love to join the group. Can you all come back in September? I'll buy you ....or ... ... or
