On "Check Please Bay Area" recently, they reviewed a No. Italian restaurant that sounded really good - Stella Alpina.

On April 1st we will be dropping our grandson off at SFO late afternoon, so thought we would give it a try. Anyone interested in joining us for a 6 pm dinner?

Judy

Judy, we actually caught that episode! Even though it is a Wed. night we could be interested. Sounds like a fun mid-week, beginning of the month gtg.

Judy, we shall plan on this. Fair warning--Fred has been unbearable about April Fool's jokes sometimes. Let's hope we can actually do this one!

Joan - it will be great to see you both - we missed you in Paso. And we will just have to deal with Fred's jokes if and when they happen.

Ok, I thought about this... if Wendy is driving from Peeble Beach to go to dinner in Burlingame, I can't have a lame excuse (of the place being far, LOL). So I am in. I will ask Tracey (daughter) if she wants to join us since she works in San Mateo.

Time to bump this up and get a headcount so I can make a reservation.

My grandson's flight has changed and his departure time is a little later than it was when I proposed this - so how about

Stella Alpina Restaurant, Burlingame

6:15 pm

Let me know if you are still planning on joining us. I will try to remember to call the restaurant for a reservation next Wednesday (the 25th), since grandson arrives the next day and I know i will forget if I wait longer.

Hope to see all of you listed above, and any other locals who might want to join us (Sharon L, Ruth K.,Darci, where are you?).

I've kept hoping we could do this, but we have way too many conflicts that evening.

Maybe some other time.

We made hotel rezzies the other night for Tues. night in the city, so we will make it for the 6:15 dinner on Wed.

Looking forward to it and I am wondering if Colleen is going to be there. I mentioned it the other day to her, hoping she'll make it.

Looking forward to seeing you, sorry you won't be able to make Jon, hopefully another time.

Well done Sheriff Colleen. You have rounded up the whole "Posse". you definitely deserve a Star for your lapel.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone and trying Stella Alpina. In the mean time we hope that your next week, or so, goes smoothly.

Joan, we are really glad that you and Fred will be coming. The two of you have been missed.

Ciao for now, W&R

PS. Sorry about the repeat posting, I was having troubles with both my cell phone and the laptop. Olympic event entry forms will be issued soon

So sad Frown, but we can't make it. I was out of town this weekend for the Met Opera's La Sonambula, and the repeat is that evening at 7:30 pm, and we just have to go!! I also saw that episode of Check Please, Bay Area and was thinking we needed to get up there. Why do things always happen at the same time???

I think it is what my British cousin calls "sod's law".

We will miss you - but fully understand. There will be other GTG's, I'm sure.

Yep - 12 of us! Reservation is in my name - Judy Roberts. We should be there in plenty of time, unless my grandson's flight gets delayed - so if we aren't there and they want to start taking orders - go ahead and we will get there as quickly as possible.

Others need to bring their cameras, too. Dorky Traveler

We are packed and ready to head up to the city. We are going to try SPQR tonight, and yes we are ready for the line. We think we will cab over so we don't have to worry about trying to park.

Beautiful day here and it is supposed to be even nicer in SF. Whoohoo.

Okay, see you on the morrow. W&R

Ruth & Marcy--you were missed. It was a great gathering! Food was great, service was great, company was even better. Several cameras were in evidence, so I'm sure photos will be posted as soon as the participants sober up! Colleen was sporting her Sherrif's badge--a gift from Wendy in response to Collen's comment that

Glad so many could make it.

" ...I'm sure photos will be posted as soon as the participants sober up" Excuse me, just because I drank Rob's port and some of his wine - because he was the DD tonight - does not mean that I was ... what? Drunk. NOT! And to prove it I will go now and post some shots from tonight. If they are blury it is not my fault, but the subjects at hand. Well, maybe that isn't quite true. Big Grin

Yes, the food was really good, the place very nice as were all working there, but the best were those at our table. What good friends you all are.

It was great to see and spend time talking with Fred and Joan. Be well, both of you. Darci and Colleen it was great to spend time with you, and let's try to put something together down the road, or up the road depending on where we meet up next time. Sharon, as always it was great to be with you. Eden, it was nice to meet Tracy/Tracey and to see you again. Cathy, I am sorry it took so long to get to Burlingame, what a drag, but I'm glad you stuck with it and made it in time to order right after the rest of us. It is all in the timing and yours was perfect. And now Bill and our organizer, great idea, great execution and thank you for putting tonight togehter Judy. As always, it was terrific spending an evening with you both.

Okay, now to upload a few images. I guess I will put them in the misc. gtg album.

As always,
Wendy and Rob

Good food, great company. What a wonderful group we were. It was wonderful to see all of you again, and to meet Tracey.

Fred and Joan, really good to see you both.

I have uploaded my images, not great, very candid and not always sharp, but hey ... at least they are posted. Here is the shortcut. Anyone else?

wow, photos already posted!

Last night was great fun ... as usual with this crowd. Great to see you all again!

Good menu, and everything I tasted was delicious: roasted beet salad on arugula, risotto cakes with black truffle, cubbies' rigatoni with cream sauce, linguine al Ligure ... mmm.

Thanks, Judy - for organizing. I enjoyed the evening very much!

My few photos are up, including one of Wendy. I didn't post some that were just too blurry. I blame that on the lighting or the subject. It couldn't have been the photographer and the wine and the port. Big Grin

Good food and wonderful people. (Lousy drive, but I made it.) Thanks to all for a great evening and thanks to Judy for arranging it.

Wow! I went to work today and have not seen the thread until now. Was a grand time - next time we have to start playing musical chairs earlier in the evening so we can get to everyone. Maybe we order dinner and leave it there and then move to new spots to try everything! Interesting concept, no? Thanks again for a "loverly" evening.

I am chiming in late... I also want to thank Judy for being the prime mover on this GTG. We (Tracey and I) enjoyed the company, food, and the beverages... Maybe Pinot, Testarosa, and Port caused my being so tired/ sluggish at work today! I missed seeing Colleen's zapatos in "person". I wanted to see those. Next time.
