Hi Bill,
I haven't responded yet as I have limited time online while we are here in London but today we are relaxing in a lounge area with internet access.

Jeremy and I are both looking forward to seeing everyone. Would it be alright if I brought a friend of mine? She is not sure if she is going to arrive at our house for a visit on saturday or sunday. If it is saturday she would love to come with us to your house. She is an avid traveler and her name is Lillian.

I'll check and see if I have your pm with directions and let you know if I haven't received it.

See you all soon.

Brenda

Man, you guys are going to have such a WONDERFUL GTG. I'm very envious. It makes me wish my kids still lived in Boston so that I'd have an excuse to come. sigh!

Have a blast!

We weren't sure if we would be in Boston at this time. Is it too late to join in?

We can bring some Chianti wine, prosecco and insalata di riso.

Hi Bob:

In the middle of page two of this thread, Amy has been updating the menu of what people are bringing. Looks like we don't have a lot of salads or desserts, so maybe something along those lines would be good. Also, please bring what you would like to drink.

I have sent you a PM with the contact information and directions. See you on Saturday!

Brenda, I don't think we replied to your question. Of course, your friend Lillian is welcome.

We've already started cooking! Is it Saturday yet??

Just returned from ordering the cheese and having it shipped to my parent's house. I head out tomorrow for Rhode Island - really looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday. Looks like it's going to be a fun GTG!

Hi Bill & Mark,

We can bring some bread.

Is anyone heading out from Brookline and could we hitch a ride? If not, is the train stop within walking distance?

Thanks, a Sabato.

Hi Rita and Lino:

The house is within walking distance of the Reading stop on the purple line commuter rail. If you need specific directions for this option, let me know.

We're coming from Newton, so could certainly work something out. (Marlene, do you still want a ride?)

Thanks, Bill, we are going to bring some schiacciata to add to the party and make arrangements for a ride to Reading with Amy.

Hi Amy,

When you get a chance tomorrow, would you send me a PM, or to rita at tartaruga and we'll catch up with you via email.

Thanks.

I wish you all a wonderful GTG. Having met so many of you, I feel that it is a gathering of my good friends. If we were in the states, I think we would have joined you--always an excuse to get some good lobster! For those who have been here, today is lovely--just as you remember it.

Amy just phoned from the GTG - I had a brief talk with Amy, Mindy (Pokey) and Maureen, then a group "Hello Pauline" to the phone. There are over 40 people, the food is great, Bill has 3 cats!! and a fabulous house.

But I have to run off to the Book Club Chat!!

Bill and Mark hosted a fabulous event. They sure throw a great party! Thanks so much, guys -- and it was so much fun to meet so many great Slow Travelers. Here's a picture of the whole gang.

- Roz

Oops I guess it isn't quite the whole gang -- I think we only got Maureen's legs. (That is Maureen in the chair, isn't it?)

That is a great looking bunch of people. I created a catagory for the GTG because I suspect there will be quite a few photos.

It was fun meeting everyone - and tasting so many delicious treats! Special thanks to Bill & Mark, who were wonderful hosts. Wine Kitty (and a pat to their very sociable cats)

Mo,
I heard 'through the grapevine' that a certain someone thinks they're your best asset. (And he's had lots to compare to, if you know what I mean.)

What a great time!! Bill and Mark and his lovely mother Mary were such terrific hosts. Thank you so much for a really fun event. The food, the house and especially the company were terrific. I loved connecting with old ST friends and meeting many new ones.
As I was about to download my pictures, I realized that I left my camera behind-that's what too much wine food and socializing will do for you! Roll Eyes So whenever I recover the camera (I hope you found it Bill), I promise to post some pictures because I think I got some good ones.
