We'll be in southern Tuscany (Sant'Antonio outside Montepulciano) from 14-28 April. We'd love to get together with any other slow travellers who'll be in the area during that time. Our schedule is fairly unscheduled, except for the 19th and 20th. Post here or send me a PM if you'd like to gtg.

Oh Kevin, normally we would have loved to do that. I want to meet you and any excuse to drop in Sant'Antonio is one I take. But--those dates exactly correspond with my husband's brother and wife's visit. There are some great places around there for a GTG. You might even think of Nico's restaurant. He hasn't sold it yet and so he would be delighted to host something, I am sure. If you do have a date, let me know and just maybe we can figure something out.

We are inbetween visitors during the week 16- 21 and have promised partners in the Buonconvento, Montepulciano area to drop in for a visit. One of these is Nico at Sant'Antonio . Let's all have lunch on Friday 20th at Bagno Vignoni or ...??

Kevin--this is Nico's restaurant. We are trying to work out being there the 21st and 22nd. Mary Jane, are those dates OK with you? We can't be there on the 20th.

Sounds like a great idea to us. We'd also rather not do it on the 20th as we already have plans for dinner at Latte di Luna that night, and I want to arrive hungry!

Any other day except the 19th will work for us, though.

Kevin and Mary Jane (and I wish Barb and Art), we have booked into Sant' Antonio the nights of 21 and 22. So lets pick one of those and see about reserving at Osteria Leone (Nico's) place. We can do either night. Ken's brother and his wife will be with us. Casey will probably stay with Sofia (Nico's daughter.)We can do either lunch or dinner but would prefer dinner if Mary Jane can do that.

Well Kevin, it looks like you get to "meet" me twice if this GTG takes place. I'm up for lunch on the 21st....

We had a great extended set of GTGs this week in southern Tuscany. On Friday, we had a great meal at Latte di Luna in Pienza (maiolino, anyone?) with Sue Smith (Susa). It was great to meet you, Sue, and I hope the rest of your trip is/was terrific.

On Saturday and again on Sunday, we met Jane, Ken, and Casey, plus Ken's brother and sister-in-law (Bruce & Sandra), first at Osteria di Leone in Bagno Vignoni and then at Osteria Acquacheta in Montepulciano. A great time was had by all. It was great to meet all of you and I hope we'll see you again somewhere down the road (at the GTG in Umbria in July, at least). Safe travels!

Here's a photo of the GTG at Acquacheta, with some of the best bistecca I've ever had.

Kevin's right--we had a good time together--a fun time. Dinner at Osteria Leone was excellent and the last we will have there under Nico's ownership. He passes the keys on May 7.

We had asked Nico which was the best place for bistecca in Montepulciano as we wanted Ken's brother and wife to sample it. The answer was Acquacheta. It was outstanding and it gave us a chance to go to one of our favorite places to eat.

Kevin-Kim--see you in July at Janet's.

Another day, another GTG! This has really been quite the trip for getting to meet up with fellow STers. Today it was lunch in Cortona with Alessandra, Tania, Keith, James, and Deborah at Osteria del Teatro. It was great to meet everyone and to see some of Cortona (our 1st visit). Here's a photo of the gang near the scene of the GTG.
