We recently saw an episode of Iron Chef (the Japanese version, one of my husband's favorite TV shows) which featured snails. One of the chefs used snail eggs as well, which I had never heard of in cooking.

Are snail eggs a common ingredient somewhere? Are they like caviar, or frogs eggs (and are frog’s eggs eaten too?), or what? Has anyone here tried them, and do they have an interesting flavor or are they mostly texture Confused

And while we're sort of on the subject, I've always wondered why we don't eat slugs when snails are considered a delicacy. Wouldn't they cook up about the same, with a little court bouillon and garlic butter Eek Snail Snail Snail

I think they eat slugs on Survivor Big Grin

Probably they would eat snail eggs too.

Sorry, I don't really know anything about those "unique" foods. Just trying to be funny...
