For those of you who enjoy the Sandra Lee show (you know who you are) she is having a special Semi-Homemade Halloween spectacle complete with theme costumes, food, house, dinnerware, etc. It is on tonight at 8 p.m. It looks horribly funny Eek Eek Eek

Ginger! You beat me to the punch. The show was on this afternoon here. I was flipping through the channels and Ms. Lee pops up on my screen in a flowing witches outfit. Complete with a huge hat and some kind of spiderwebby thingy necklace. She was putting dip in a orange plastic pumpkin bucket and surrounding it with blue corn chips "Because they look almost black" Eek

She is like passing a bad auto accident on the highway. You don't want to look, but you just can't help yourself.

I thought it was just Sandra Lee, but when I flipped over to the Food Network to see what was going on, EVERYBODY was dressed up. Emeril was a vampire, Paula was a green witch and Racheal Ray was a archeologist or something. They made a mummy appetizer.

Agreed. I find myself fascinated by the sheer inane-ity (I don't think this is a word, but I like it.) of her show. Personally, i don't like eating things that are designed to look gross. Halloween "tablescapes" aren't my idea of a good time. Am I a curmudgeon?

I really don't mind tastefully designed themed tables. Sometimes they can be fun. But, CLEARLY noone has explained the concept of "Less is more" to Sandra.

I guess I should rephrase. I think it's her overuse of the words "Sweet little . . . " in her descriptions of said tablescapes, as well as her nauseatingly enthusiastic approach to using canned soup.

However I DO like a festive table as much as the next spooky goblin out there Big Grin
