Does anyone have suggestions for a good wine refrigerator? I don't have a particularly large amount of wine to store at the moment (a few Brunellos from my last trip to Italy, a couple of other "splurge" bottles from the local wine store), and I don't have all that much money to spend (<$500). However, my un-air condiditioned apartment is not adequate for long term storage -- and not having a good place to store wine has been keeping me from buying bottles to store [and from bringing home bottles from Europe), which I would like to start getting into.
I've seen some cheap "wine refrigerators" in Home Depot and the like, but I'm not sure if they'd be adequate, since they seem more to be simply small refrigerators that aren't quite as cold (no accurate temperature control, etc).
Basically, I'm wondering what I should look for in a wine refrigerator, and if there are any manufacturers that are thought of highly, but produce slightly smaller and more lower-end stuff that I could afford.

Well, at the moment I only have 4-5 bottles of wine that I plan on saving for more than 6 months. However, if I'm going to make a several hundred dollar investment in a wine fridge, I'd like to have some room to expand. Ideally I'd find something in the 30ish bottle range, although it depends on price. If I could get a good ~10 bottle fridge for around $100, that might be a viable option as well.

I would get in contact with Gault Wine Cellars. They are a broker. I have 2 vinocraft units that work very well. They make some compact units that may fill your bill. Here is the link.
