Hi, millie. Around here, the non-alcoholic punch of choice is the one made with white grape juice and ginger ale - that's all. It's simple to prepare, very good, refreshing on a hot day and can be gentrified with an ice ring made with the juice and flowers or fruit. Some people call it Mock-Champagne Punch.
For some reason, I don't have the exact measurements in my recipe book but if you Google "white grape juice punch", you will find.
The other punch that seems to make the rounds (I've been served this in four southern states) is called, "Summer Tea" - here's the recipe:
1 gallon sweet tea
1 small can frozen lemonade
1 small can frozen orange juice
Mix and pour over crushed ice in punch bowl. Garnish with fresh lemons and mint.
And here's another, Pink Party Punch, a recipe from a catering friend:
46 oz. pineapple juice
1 c. lemon juice
1 c. sugar
1 pt. cranberry juice
2 qts. ginger ale
Have all ingredients well chilled. Combine first four and stir well. Add ginger ale at last minute. Garnish with floating orange slices.
And another from same friend, probably her most popular:
Pineapple Punch
5 c. sugar
4 c. water
2 lg. lemon Jell-O
8 oz. bottle lemon juice
6 oz. can frozen orange juice
2 32 oz. cans pineapple juice
Sm. bottle almond flavoring
1 gallon cold water
6 oz. can frozen apple juice
2 lg. bottles ginger ale or lemon-lime drinks
Mix sugar and 4 cups water in large pot and bring to a boil. Add Jell-O; stir until dissolved. Add all remaining ingredients except ginger ale. Mix well and freeze.
Before serving, thaw to slush stage and then add ginger ale.
Good luck with your party.
