Had the opportunity to taste these two varietal wines for the first time on a recent trip to Italy. Would like to explore them further here in the US. Any suggestions? One I'm going to try is "Feudo Principi di Butera" Nero D'Avola which I had in Sicily and is available in the Boston area.

I don't know about where to shop..
but I also adore Primativo ( from puglia) try it if you find it!
I can buy all of these from the Vino Sfuso place on my street in Florence!!!

BYOB.. bring you own bottle!

Ledson winery in Sonoma has a wonderful Primativo. I know it isn't Italian but it was a great wine! I enjoy trying Italian varietals which are grown in NA.

I have found those wines at Trader Joe, which has quite a good selection of interesting, reasonably priced wines. (Not just Two or Three Buck Chuck!)

Keep your eyes out for Donato D'Angelo (reasonable price)or Paternoster (higher priced) or Terra dei Re (cheaper but good) Aglianico del Vulture.
Good stuff and very underrated wines in US. I have been drinking Aglianico for over 20 years.
