Although Thanksgiving day in the South usually finds us still in short sleeves and flip flops, this year we had a glorious, cool autumn day. My mom usually serves a mulled cider, even if the temperature is hovering in the high 80's, and her latest recipe was a hit with everyone. Here it is:
Mulled Pomegranate Sipper
1 bottle cranberry-apple juice (64 oz.) 2 cups unsweetened apple juice 1 cup pomegranate juice 2/3 cup honey (or sugar) 1/2 cup orange juice 3 cinnamon sticks 10 whole cloves 2 tbs. grated orange peel
Combine all ingredients. Cover and cook on low 1-2 hours. Discard cinnamon and cloves.
Makes 3 quarts.
