OK, I bought a jar of "Preparato per Intingolo" in Montepulciano back in 2004. It came with a page of directions - but they are in Italian. I want to make the recipe this weekend. I need some help with translation.

Here's the Italian:

1. Tritare molto finemente i pomodori secchi E

2. Adagiarli in un piatto da portata E

3. Mettere sui pomodori -,

8. Condire it battuto con 1 cucchuiaio a persona del preparato x intingolo -

9. Finire di condire con olio ext. oliva...

I understand some of it (ie the ingredients), but the verbs are a puzzle.

Anybody help with a translation?

The problem is that the recipe does not make sense in Italian. I have tried to translate what I can, but I a not sure it is of help.

quote:
. Tritare molto finemente i pomodori secchi

Chop finely the dry tomato

2. Adagiarli in un piatto da portata E

Put them on a serving dish

3. Mettere sui pomodori -,

Put on the tomato (???)

Grate the two types of pecorino

5. Adagiario sul tuito -

the word "tuito" does not exists, may be "trito"?

6. Sminuzzare il lardo e rescolare tuito insiere

chop the lard and mix with (??????)

Place the Preparato in a small bowl and cover with oil

8. Condire it battuto con 1 cucchuiaio a persona del preparato x intingolo -

Mix the preparato with some of the stuff you did before

9. Finire di condire con olio ext. oliva...

Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil

I understand some of it (ie the ingredients), but the verbs are a puzzle.

Anybody help with a translation?

Are you sure this stuff is not made in China?

It seems an odd concoction of dry tomato, lard, pecorino and olive oil. No idea what this would Confused be for.

i'll try too

1. Tritare molto finemente i pomodori secchi E
chop finely the dried tomatoes
2. Adagiarli in un piatto da portata E
lay them on a serv ing plate
3. Mettere sui pomodori -,
put them on the toamatoes-this makes no sense
grate the two used pecorino
5. Adagiario sul tuito -
lay it on the mince( tomatoes -I think)
6. Sminuzzare il lardo e rescolare tuito insiere
mince the lard and mix all togheter
Place the preparato per intingolo in a bowl and cover with oil
8. Condire it battuto con 1 cucchuiaio a persona del preparato x intingolo -
Season the -I believe- bruschetta with one spoonful of the mix
9. Finire di condire con olio ext. oliva...
End up with a drizzle of EVOO

I think that there a lot of mispelling and probably while typing some words have been mixed.

I think it makes sense this way, but how to be sure.....

I think the important part is what is in the package!

usually these are dried garlic chili and herbs..
so they are saying how to make a topping for bread..

usually they are mixed with olive oil.. simply. not lard.

getting fancy!
