A box of Roasted Gorgonzola flavored oven crisp crackers jumped into my shopping cart at Trader Joe's...imagine!

I would like to put them out as a small appetizer but I have no idea what sort of dip or accompaniment (if that's the right word) to go with them. I say, straight outta the box!!

I'd appreciate any suggestions! Not Worthy

How about some softened cream cheese with gorgonzola and grated pears. It worked at the GTG. Those crackers ARE good straight from the box!

I love the combination of gorgonzola and figs. This spread is a nice combination of sweet and savoury:

Dried Fig and Caramelized Onion Spread

1 Medium red onion, thinly sliced
3 Tbsp Butter , divided
6 oz Dried figs
2 tsp Pomegranate molasses
Ground allspice to taste

1. Melt 2 Tbsp. butter in sauté pan over medium-high heat; add onions. Cook to a deep brown color, being careful not to burn. Remove from heat.

2. Rehydrate figs in warm water. Trim ends and halve each fig lengthwise. Quickly sauté in remaining 1 Tbsp. butter.

3. Combine figs and onions with molasses. Season with allspice.

Mmmm, yum, these are great suggestions!!

I'm wondering where I would find pomegranate molasses?

Thank you both so much! Gelato

Re pomegranate molasses . . .

from the food network:
quote:
Pomegranate molasses is a thick syrup made by cooking down pomegranate juice. It’s a Middle Eastern ingredient that can be purchased at Middle Eastern grocery stores and upscale markets. You can also use a combination of lemon juice and honey instead of the pomegranate molasses – it will give it that sweet and sour tang.

One of my favourite food blogs, Simply Recipes, has a recipe for making your own.

Thank you so much Jerry! I think there's a Middle Eastern market in Quincy Center near where I work. Thumbs Up I'll have to check it out!
If not, I will use the recipe you linked to.

The TJ gorgonzola crackers are my new addiction. They have a strong enough flavor on their own without a dip.

Sadly, looking at the empty box, I agree with Carole and Palma about those crackers. But for simplicity, Mindy, I think you could just put artichoke pesto spread that TJ's also has in a bowl, surround it with the crackers and enjoy.
