Next week it is time for the annual Stavanger food festival...known as "Gladmat festivalen" (see http://www.gladmat.no/english/index_eng.html) Each year this is held in the middle of town and a lot of the restaurants in town set up small tents where they serve small meals so that you can try out different dishes from the different restaurants. It can be really crowded but it is one big party and it is great fun. Keep an eye on this web cam next week and you'll see what I mean. Hopefully the weather will be as good as it is right now :-) So if you are coming to Stavanger in the future you should try to time it so that you come here during the food festival...it is fun.
Sounds like a great way to publicize the restaurants! I have never felt particularly inclined to travel that far north, being a lizard I need HEAT, but for sure this festival intrigues me.
