On our recent trip to Florence, Siena and southern Tuscany, we had the pleasure to try several wines by Carpineto. http://www.carpineto.com/welcome_eng.htm The Chianti and Brunello were great, and a Spumante was a big surprise. Blindfolded, I might have guessed it was Krystal -- the bubbles were so tiny. (Although that was after enjoying some of the reds.) Is Carpineto a well known winery? Has anyone seen it sold in the US?

Here in NJ, I see Carpineto everywhere at local wine shops. So they must be pretty big.

They produce very American style wines, so I don't see much of their wines here.. but lots in America..

They are one of the SUPER Tuscan style wine makers, that uses San Giovese, Cabernet and Syrah.. and Barriques.

As Diva was saying they are a "modern" producer.
They make international style wines which tend to be favored by not just americans but much of the wine press in general. The wines are meant to be had now and it would be difficult to say if it was an Italian wine in a blind tasting.
More traditional wines have a more unique local style.RR
