Bob, I am curious what you consider "tourism expenses"? I'm guessing artwork, guided tours and that sort of thing?

Thanks for updating your list.

Bob, thanks for this. One question: I think this is expenses for two people, correct? I see that the airfare is for two people, but it was unclear overall whether or not it is for two people.

Sorry, I'm probably just not reading well. Thanks.

Pedalaforte, I am pretty sure it is for two people, otherwise the 2 star category would be extremely expensive! We spent about (maybe 200 dollars more) for two people last year, two weeks in May. And we stayed in a few places that were 3 or 4 stars. We also had a rental car but just for a couple of days. (So I guess we just ate less! Smile )

Hi Bob,

$200 (153 euro at your rate) for gelato and cappucino over two weeks for 2 people = 11 euro per day. Average small coppetta or cono is 2 euro (two scoops)and cappucino (yuch)is 1.20, so that's one gelato per day, plus about 3 cappucini per person, depending on the city of course.

Is that enough?

I would go for Marocchino if you want a coffee with frothed milk closer to what the rest of the world thinks is a cappucino, and slightly cheaper - so a bigger gelato!
