This is really great news! It would be wonderful if more low-cost airlines started flights to North America.
I know that there are charter flights from Rome to Toronto for only 328 euros. And now there are new direct AirCanada Flights. And a low cost airline flying from Canada to London for literally few pounds.
Alba Tours does quite cheap charter flights from Toronto to various Italian cities. I'm not sure if these are the same flights as Gloria is mentioning: http://www.albatours.com
Gloria - what is the airline flying from Canada to London for a few pounds!? I'm desperate to know .
Rositani, who will lease long-haul Boeing 767-300 aircraft at the start, wants to set a standard one-way price of between €300-399 for his Italy-U.S. flights.
I paid $365 dollars roundtrip in January which is a heck of a lot cheaper than 600 - 798 Euro round trip. That latter price isn't much cheaper than current discount airfares (unless you're talking high season).

Friends had their flight cancelled on one of these low cost airlines from T.O. to England...not enough passengers for their departure date...now going in fall.

Do you remember if it was Zoom or Canadian Affair?
I saw that article about Ciao International but haven't been able to find anything else about them. Maybe it is some ways off before their get their air slots, etc?

Good point. I skipped completely over that and somehow I thought that was the price for roundtrip. A one-way price of 300-399 is not so low cost, is it? I have my roundtrip flight from Rome to Newark on Alitalia for $529. I even found one for $459 but it just didnt work out for me.
I was excited when I heard about Eurofly, when I priced a late June departure to Naples and return to NYC 1 week later it was the same as any other airline at that time, around $900.
