This might be a Bill question, but anyone's input is welcome. Are there any enjoyable day walks around Ascoli, preferably of a circular nature beginning/ending in Ascoli? Are there any paths/trails or would I be stuck with the regular roads? Do those roads have anything resembling a shoulder?

Thanks Smile

Flattered; alas, it might be, but it isn't: I've never walked the area; was just driven around the near countryside, within the comune, in a small bus. On the other hand, I'm simple-minded: I just walk out of town, preferably on a smaller road, and preferably (but not always) with an adequate local road map.

The area around Ascoli is a walker's delight: not too flat, not too steep, a lot of variety in the scenery, and when you walk back home, Ascoli itself is flat as a board, which can be welcome relief — not like getting back into Todi for example after 30 km on the road.
