I am rereading this book set in Venice and would dearly love to trace the writer's steps. Salley Vickers, the author, has a web site with a map, but for some reason I cannot open it. A main place is the Church of the Angel Rafel. Does anyone know its whereabouts, or, indeed about this book, that so lovingly describes Venice?

I visited Amazon.com and the reviews are great. Can't wait to read this book. I am happy for the heroin of the novel that finally found out that there is life besides working and eating and all that And it had to be La Serenissima (or the spirit of Casanova) to show her that I found this report about Miss Garnet's Angel.

P.S. Sorry, but I didn't understand who's whereabouts you wish to know? The book's, Ms. Sally Vickers' or the Church of the Angel Rafael's?

I, too, enjoyed the story of Miss Garnet and her angel, and Ruth (Boleskine) visits the church on each trip to Venice - hoping to find it out from behind scaffolding.

I, too, loved this novel, particularly because I once rented an apartment with an altana (don't think it's for rent anymore) in the palazzo directly across the little bridge in front of the Carmine. I will have to return to find the angel.
