Does anyone know how close the Hertz rental car location is to the train station in La Spezia? Walking distance, cab?
I am trying to help some friends with logistics.
Thanks!
Linda

In a search I can see that Hertz is at 6 Via Della Pianta. Garmin Metroguide shows this address is down near the docks 1.9 miles from the train station. You will most likely need a cab. I seem to remember a cab stand right outside the train station.

I cannot recall if there is a Hertz sub office in the train station itself but it would not surprise me. This station is a huge gathering place for tourists. I can across around a half of dozen people from my home state in the 10-15 minutes I was there (I was wearing a cycling jersey that said Lancaster, PA Smile ).

P.S. The tourist information office is only a few blocks away from Hertz at VIALE MAZZINI, 47. Don't waste your time at the one at the train station they are very busy. You will get more attention at the TI office near the docks.

Glad to help.

It sounds like there might be some strange law that says all people from Lancaster must travel to La Spezia at least once in their life. Smile

I am from Pittsburgh but I participated in the Covered Bridge Ride last year in Lancaster. Wearing that jersey, it is amazing how many people come up to me here and in Italy that tell be they are from Lancaster or from PA (of course they tell me they are from PA when I am outside of PA). Smile
