We are just back from our trip to Florence and Rome and thanks to many of you hear had a fantastic time. I will be doing a trip report, apartment reviews and restaurant reviews. I do have one request if someone would be kind enough. The thing my daughter wanted to see most was the Mouth of Truth. Which we did, tourity photos and all. She bought a small metal magnet of the mouth. Somehow when we got home we couldn't find the magnet. The is probably about as big around as a 2 euro coin or so. Not very expensive. If anyone is going to be going to the Mouth of Truth while in Rome and would be willing to pick one up and send it to me once they are back in the US (I think paying for mailing from Italy would probably cost more than the magnet did) I would be more than happy to pay you for it. If you can help out email me at staninmd@hotmail.com and I will send you the address.
Where do you buy the Mouth of Truth magnets? I want to see it and I am leaving for Rome In 8 days. The Mouth of Truth is in a Church. Is there a souvenoir stand there like at S Paulo e Giovanni? I'll try and get you a magnet.

Check out Romagiftshop.com. At the bottom of the page it says "to search over 1600 gifts .., click on that, it will direct you to another page and type in mouth, click seach, and see what items they have. Hope this helps.

It is at the church which is right at the end of Circus Maximus. There is a gift shop inside the church. There was also someone selling the magnets outside the church, but we figured that buying them in the gift shop helped support the church. Let me know if you would be willing to pick on up for me.
Losip,
I appreciate the website and will check it out but I figure if I pay for shipping from Italy it will cost me more than the magnet. If someone were willing to mail it to me after they were back in the states I think it would be much less expensive. If all else fails I will probably have it shipped from the gift shop site.

I have a map in Travelor Rome which has St Maria Cosmedin on it. That is where the mouth of Truth was. I needed to know it the shop is inside the church?

http://romegiftshop.com/mooftrmadeve.html it is $14.99 and then 6.50 for 2-3day priority air. Honestly when you described it i thought that is was some 5 euro thing not $14.99. I had no idea either than you could buy it online. I think I want out on fetching a magnet with my euros that you can buy online. You could buy it for your daughter for only $21.49 with shipping.

I don't think when you are there the magnet costs more than a couple euro, that is why I didn't want to go through the gift shop online, the price is way out of line with what it actually costs. Paying an online gift shop 14.00 for something that is really only a couple euro doesn't seem like a good investment. I would also say that I had looked at that giftshop site for some rosaries for a friend and the price they had compared with the prices at the Vatican where also pretty out of line.
Urbanicon,
Thank you so much. I responded to your email. I really appreciate it. While it is a little knick nack it is something that really is significant to my dauther.
I liked the mouth of truth magnets and bought a coule while I was there in September. They are small (about the size of a half dollar) and maybe 3 Euros and are all over the place mostly in the touristy shops.
