Just found this info in a travel news letter. If it is accurate, the price is almost half of what I payed for my June trip to Italy.
Eurofly, an air travel provider in Italy, is adding Rome as a destination for nonstop, regularly scheduled, weekend flights originating from New York's Kennedy Airport. The flights, priced from $659 roundtrip, will depart Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from May 11 thru Nov. 12, aboard Airbus 330-200 aircrafts.

It may be a good deal anyway, but you neglected to mention the taxes and fees that come to $187 per ticket. So in May, the $659 price is actually over $800 and for June and July, the ticket price with taxes is over $1,000 per seat.
I just got tickets for Rome/JFK/Rome on Eurofly, leaving mid June, returning end of July, for 560 Euro. Thought this a good price. Is it often less for starting in Italy as opposed to the USA? In addition, my local travel agent seems to be able to consistently get tickets for somewhat less money than the websites advertise. Have never flown them, so I wonder about the meals, entertainment and leg room,as I'm traveling with a 7-year-old.
Yes, it is cheaper from Italy to North America than from North America to Italy. A friend lived in Rome for over 35 years and came back to Montreal at least once a year. As a rule, I flew to Italy once a year. I would be paying CAD$1100 and up, and she would be paying about 485 Euro. And we tended to fly within a few weeks of each other - early May to early June. I found it most frustrating!

Which is what you can pay on a "regular" airline anyway, no Jim?
