As stated by so many, I'm trying to get tix for the Uffizi and Accademia Gallery in advance. We are planning to be in Florence on Oct 1. I've gone to the official site for the tickets (http://www.b-ticket.com/b-ticket/uffizi/), but when I try to purchase, there is no availability after Sept 30th. This is true for both of the above listed galleries. Does anyone know of any reason this would be the case? Do they stop selling tix online after the busy season? Am I potentially doing something wrong? I attempted to send an email the to help email address, but it was returned undeliverable.
Does anyone have any ideas? One last thing I was going to attempt was to contact my hotel and see if they could arrange tix for me, but didn't really want to trouble them if it was something I could do on my own. It just seems that from everything I've read, getting tix in advance is essential.
For September, the yellow dates are full, but I see a good deal of availability when I click on the goldenrod-colored days for both museums. Did you click on the individual dates, and then on the hour where availability is shown?
Hm...hard to tell what the problem is, one with the site, or selling tickets on month at a time. I would try to call the museum directly, esp the Uffizi +39 055 2388-651/652 and see what they say. They'll speak plenty of English, don't worry...
You'll have to pay a processing fee but it might be worth it to you to get what you want over the internet. I've used them several times and it always worked well for me.
Good luck. (And buying "timed" tickets in advance is the only way to go. Believe me.)
Yes, Thank you all. I got the same email back. (Although when I sent the email, I got a message back saying it was undeliverable so I assumed it never went.)
If you don't have any luck buying online you can buy same day entry tickets in Florence. You may also buy them for future dates too.
At OrsanMichele only a few steps away from Piazza Signoria there is a ticket booth located between Saint John the Baptist and Doubting Thomas. You save a bit of money from an online buy, but you do pay a "convenience" fee.
You can buy tickets for all the state run Florence museums : Uffizi, Accademia, San Marco, Bargello.
Best thing is no waiting in VERY long lines so if you can't buy online consider a same day ticket book buy.
It's near a great panino spot Due Fratellini so grab one after you buy your tickets and are waiting to head to the museum.
