Emboldened by Jan's question about driving from Ascoli Piceno to Siena, I will admit I am obsessing: We will be driving from Perdifumo, in the Cilento area, to San Quirico d'Orcia next month. The via Michelin directions estimate the driving time as about 5 1/2 hours, and have us getting off the autostrada near Orvieto.

Can someone suggest a decent, but not overwhelming, place to have lunch? We need to arrive at our apartment late afternoon. (And want to have a nice dinner in San Quirico. Smile )

My suggestions....either stop for a sandwich at an AutoGrill or pack a picnic and find a table en route.

And don't spoil your appetite for dinner....Smile
