Do you know more about the 5/12 strike?

I was supposed to make the trek from Florence to Cinqueterre that day - and if the trains aren't running, I guess we'll have to cross that area off our list since I don't think there is a bus that makes that route - unless any of you know of one?

Strikes - this will be fun.

The train strike for the 20th and 21st of April is cancelled. All trains will be running normally.
The strike has been moved to the 12th and 13th of May. Information on trains that are guaranteed will not be available for a couple of weeks.
The Rome public transportation strike for Friday the 22nd from 11am until 3pm is still on. This includes buses, trams and metro.

Amy and Justin, if your train travel will be completed by 9 p.m. on the 12th, you should be fine, although the trains may be more crowded; the strike starts at that time and goes for 24 hours. One source for this is What's on in Rome, run by Slow Traveler Steph. It may be clearer if people referred to these as, for example, "a strike on the 13th, starting at 9 p.m. the previous night."
