Has anyone made reservations for the Ufizzi and Accademia online? I tried to do it today, and managed to get an account and all the way through entering my credit card. After hitting confirm (the second time) the next page was written in Italian and I couldn't tell whether the transaction went through or not. I have a feeling it did not. I am hesitant to put another set of reservations on my credit card in case they did go through since I am making 5 resevations at a time it really isn't cheap.
I asked the owner of the place we are staying, but he said he has been unable to get through to the phone reservation line and suggested that I try it online. Judging from the online site, there are not many time slots left, so I am getting a bit anxious.
Thanks,

Hi in4fun,
I made my reservations for the Uffizi Gallery and the Academia by phone,055 294 883, they have english speaking operators. You don't have to buy the tickets over the phone, they just give you you a reservation number for the time you requested.
But after I called for my reservation, I found a website that looks like you could make
reservations online with only 3 euros service fee, which is the same as reserving by phone, try http://www.b-ticket.com/b-ticket/uffizi/ and let me know how it works.

Good luck

Tickitaly.com is the site I have used in the past and have had no problems with the reservations or the service.

Looks as though the online booking fee went up in price to € 4,00 as of April 01, 2008.

I was using the website that Candi mentions, but the credit card would not go through for some reason. The final page was written in italian, but I know enough italian to know that 'non' and 'problemo' couldn't be good. We had similar problems with the air italia website and entering credit card info. I am worried that I will encounter the same problem when I try to make the train reservations in advance over the internet too.
Anyway, I had to add international phone servce so that I could make the phone call, and in the end that was TRULY the easiest way.
That brings up another question though - can we use a credit card at the museum or do we have to have the correct amount of euros?
Thanks,

If I remember correctly, you do have to pay by cash and credit cards are not accepted.
