hello! i found this site to be very useful and informative. that is why i want to ask for your assistance too. My friend and I will travel to italy via this route.. milan-venice-rome.. since it is our first time and we don't know exactly where to go and what to do.. where do you think are the best places to go to in these cities.. also could anyone share an exact way on how to get to tivoli and back.. we are not both great in directions and we might get lost which will be very very bad.. Welcome to SlowTrav. Every trip begins with some research, not to find "the best places", but to find the places that you want to see and experience. Begin over on our Planning pages (link to your right), and then take a trip to the bookstore to get one of the recommended guidebooks. Read through, and start identifying what most appeals. Reading some Trip Reports, the Travel notes, and searching the Board for past threads will also give you ideas. Don't forget the "Instructions" section for nitty-gritty on transportation, etc. If you use the "find" button to search the Board using "Rome Tivoli", you'll find past threads giving directions.
