I just sent a $100 personal check to Mauro at Underground Viaggi to reserve an apartment (via del Pellegrino 81) in Rome for 6 nights in August. He instructed me to do so thru his email response to me. I'm wondering whether this is the usual procedure for Underground Viaggi? Other agencies ask for much larger deposit, often thru bank wire transfer. I'm not complaining about the small deposit, but I'm wondering whether because of the small deposit my reservation can be renegged later?? The website doesn't give info about reservation, payment, or cancellation policies or security deposit (none mentioned). I should have asked this question before sending my check. There must be many people out there who have rented thru this agency. Please tell me if you went through the same procedure. Thanks!
