Hello everyone, we are almost on our way! I put some clothes aside last night to start packing and my house keeper put them all away today because I forgot to let her know that those were clothes for the holiday :-) Never mind! Apart from that we are ready to go!
My Nan is going to be 100 years old on Wednesday so we will go to Varzi where she lives and stay there for almost a week, after a stop over in Chamonix.
Then we will go to Levanto for 10 days, back via Villa Mimma and Chamonix mid August! Hurray!
Looking forward to it all. I will try to put a few posts so that you can follow how we are getting on, but I always say so and never manage to!
Well, I am about to go to bed because I have just completed a 12 hours journey from the UK to Chamonix!
The journey went really smoothly and we didn't find much traffic.
We stopped twice, the first time after Reims and the second time near Arlay on the A39 - there is a lovely area there called "Aire du Jura" with lots to do, inlcuding climbing up a panoramic tower, visiting a small art exhibition and having a coffee or a meal. The park is lovely with some children's areas (although for little ones mainly) and plenty of grass fields away from the car park where you can safely kick a football if you have it.
The weather was great today, sunny but not too hot (24 deg) so it was a nice journey.
We had a thunderstorm and hail stones in Chamonix just at bed time, but now the children are asleep, my is almost empty, so I better turn my laptop off and say goodnight for now.
Claudia, I hope you have a beautiful trip!! I have been enjoying reading your blog -- I am so impressed with all that you do. (I got married the day after you graduated in 1994 )
Hi Claudia, Hope you are having a great time with the family, and enjoying your travels. Am enjoying reading your blog and seeing what you are up to. Say hello to the family when you get to Villa Mimma for us, and happy birthday to Nonna. Catch up again soon Jane
