Just returned from Europe including several days in Rome. A new adventure for anyone in the Eternal City prior to the end of June is a visit to the Palazzo Valentini, a recent discovery beneath the Provincia di Roma building. It offers a fascinating look into the noble residential life of imperial Rome; what makes the experience additionally extraordinary are the advanced visual and audio effects which accompany the presentation. I was fortunate to accompany a small group from Secret Gardens of Italy, directed by Lisa Finerty, a SlowTrav contributor. The site will only be open until the end of June and then be closed for a year.

It IS very cool, isn't it. The multimedia techniques are very clever and give a visitor a better sense of what these homes were like!

Cheers,
Sandra
