I'm looking for a place that will make a small sign for the front of my house. Is there any place that makes really nice ceramic signs? Along with being in Rome, Venice and Florence, I'll be spending a week in Tuscany...I know I have seen these signs on villas, but I don't remember seeing them in stores? Any suggestions?

You can try Elettra Casini, at via Pisana 70r in Florence. She is usually in her shop painting Mon-Sat, except for lunchtime from 1-4 or so. She does lovely work.

We had a ceramic sign for our house custom made in Montepulciano two summers ago. It was in a little shop whose name I can't recall, but it was diagonally across the street from the "Il Sass" language school, a few steps down the hill from Piazza delle Erbe.
