Tomorrow DH and I are off to Italy - 2 weeks in Tuscany, Cinque Terre, and Piemonte! It's been a long time in planning and I can't believe it's finally time. Thanks to everyone who spends time on these boards answering questions and sharing your knowledge and experiences. I learned so much here and I appreciate all the great insider tips, opinions, etc that I wouldn't have found in any travel guide. It's truly invaluable information!

As former "fast travelers" known to stay in as many as 5-7 different places in a two week trip, we've seen a lot, but probably haven't experienced as much as we would have had we slowed down. With age and a lot of reading on these boards, comes wisdom (well, sometimes! Wink), so we have begun to slow down on recent trips, and for this trip, we are acutally staying in one place for one entire week!

I will report back on accomodations, restaurants, etc., (as well as how we did with our first week in one place) when we return by posting some reviews.

Thanks again!

Yes, we'll be in Montalcino. We're staying not far from there, just outside of Pienza. The wine will for sure be calling our names! Smile

Have a great trip yourself! Buon viaggo!

Tam,

Have a spectacular vacation! The area around Pienza is breath-takingly beautiful! If you can, enjoy a delicious meal in Pienza at Latte di Luna Thumbs Up

Have a wonderful trip! We leave for Italy in two weeks, staying in Lucca, Montalcino and Bevagna, all areas that we have not visited before but after reading all the wonderful reviews here, I know we have made great choices.
