Your Tuscan report is fantastic - I can't recall a better one. You are also the only person I know who has acutally stopped in Buonconvento! Sounds like it was worthwhile!
We have actually been in Buonconvento twice. And our next trip we plan on going back to dinner there at Il Poggioli with Jena from Ciacci. We really like the place as its fairly quiet with a very nice church and museum. Interesting architecture and public art as well.

I am afraid Mimmo's bar is not in Milano - I don't think the neighbors would appreciate all the chickens.
Mimmo's is located in a small village just outside of Sesto Calende at the southern tip of Lago Maggiore. I am 99.9% sure you will not find it in any guide anywhere. It is a tyical neighborhood bar in a small Italian village. There is no official lunch or dinner - just antipasti.
