Here are the guidelines: You select one of your own photos to post that in some way utilizes the topic. Use the topic as a concrete prompt, or find a novel approach. Each person, just one post/photo per thread topic, (or two if you must)please. Photos should be resized to be no wider than 600 pixels. Too-large photos slow down the loading of the thread, and will be deleted. Read about how to post a photo in a thread, here. If you have an idea for a photo hunt topic, contact one of the Mods to offer the suggestion instead of beginning another thread.
Posting photos in the thread gives your permission for SlowTrav to eventually move the photos over to Photohunt albums in the SlowPhotos Galleries.
This week's prompt is "Arch."
You're encouraged to describe your photo--where you shot it, details of what you were doing or what was going on, etc.
Arches through a doorway in old Citta` Sant'Angelo located in Pescara Province. The town was called Angulum in Roman times but these structures however are more modern arches.

My husband claims the photo I posted it is part of the ancient Roman aqueduct. Either way, I thought it was cool that it's standing in the middle of the city.

I was primarily interested in the Duomo, located across the piazza, but couldn't resist stopping by Milan's famous shopping mall, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II (at least the view was free, because the stores inside certainly weren't )

Well, I am going to be bad, I have 2 photo's I'd like to share. This first one is one of my favorites that I have titled "Are We There Yet?". This little girl in Venice after a torrential rain storm looked like she just wanted to get to the hotel. By the way, just after 20 minutes St Marks Square was under water, it was amazing to see people walking through the square at almost thigh high water. It was an early rain and they were not set up with ramps yet.
One more, the lovely Caprice Pasticceria with an arched ceiling and doorways in Palazzolo Acreide, Sicily, near Modica. Besides the scrumptious pastries, they also sold prepared foods, which you could eat there. We had a simple and inexpensive supper there, Oct. 16, 2008, with wine, coffee, and pastries.
I think this is the best photo-hunt yet, too!! If you had never been to Italy; all these lovely pictures would have you booking your trip ASAP. Here is an arch over a butcher's shop in Florence last May.
