Hi,

We are working on the final details for out trip to Italy. We leave this saturday for two weeks.

Looking for some feedback on our tour through Chianti. Luca Garrapa from Hills and Roads will be our "Chianti Cruise Director". Luca suggested the following plan based on our request to visit specific wineries. He also suggested that we can change the plan during the day.

8:30 Pick up at hotel in Florence
9:20 - 10:00 Visit castle of Vicchiomaggio + Montefioralle
11:00 - 12:15 Wine tour + tasting - Castello di Volpaia
12:30 - 13:30 Lunch in an osteria (I'm assuming La Botegga di Volpaia)
13:15 - 13:45 Visit Radda
14:45 - 15:15 Wine Tasting in Fonterutoli
15:45 - 17:00 Visit of Siena
18:30 Back to hotel in Florence

I'm not terribly concerned about the lenght of the day. I'm more concerned about the number of stops. I'm thinking of dropping one stop and increasing our time in Siena.

Thoughts/possibilities are welcomed!

Grazie!

I would probably drop Siena and spend one of your other full days there. With only 1 or 2 hours, it's just not enough time to experience anything.

Thanks for your recommendation Dennis. We may end up doing that by default since I find it somewhat unlikely that we'll follow the timeline 100%.

Also, do you know much about Radda? Is this a nice stop? Radda vs. Greve?

Thanks!

Mike

My vote would be Greve. Radda is charming but Greve offers alittle more (IMO) including a great macelleria and hand embroidered linens right in the main square. If you plan to go to Volpaia, then you can have beauitful views looking back at Radda.

Thanks Megan! There is so much to see with so little time. Prioritizing is really a challenge.
