I want to get from Lucca to Florence by 8:00 a.m. Is this possib le by train or is there another transportation possibility? Actually we need to get there before 8:00 in order to board a historic train for a day trip. Problem is, we arrive in Italy the day before the scheduled train ride. Any suggestions?

You didn't say what day of the week it will be. Monday through Saturday will be no problem, there is a 5:07 from Lucca that arrives in Florence at 6:37, or a 6:09 that arrives at 7:52.

Sunday morning the first train listed departs Lucca at 6:50 and arrives in Florence at 8:03.

There is also a bus service by Lazzi, but apparently not on Sunday:
