Finally going back to Italy after 2 years. We can't wait to go. We need a room in Venice for 1 night and a room in Rome for 3 nights, in between we will be "slow travelling". Are there any new places to recommend. We usually stay in the Pantheon area of Rome and last time in Venice we were at the Giorgione in Canareggio (sp?) Thanks in advance for any new recommendations.

We have decided to try the Teatro Pace in Rome after reading the reviews on this site.
It is close to The Pantheon.

Last night I was on venere.com and saw that we could stay at the Albergo del Senato for 130 Euros for our dates. We have stayed there before and loved it, so I booked it. I feel that is a good rate for that hotel as 4 years ago (when Italy still had lire) we paid the equivalent of $135. This will come to $165-170, so it made my husband happy as he doesn't like stairs. I, too, liked the sound of the Teatro Pace but there was no elevator for him.
