Dear Slow Travellers,

We are planning to visit North Italy in December.Do you have any suggstions on hotels in Verona as it seems difficult to find a cute accommodation through the web. Also do you have any objections for road trip in North Italy during winter period?

We just spent 2 days at a very nice hotel in Verona. It was just off the main street near the Arena. It is within walking distance of everything. I definitely recommend it. The "Hotel Giulieta e Romeo”. We had a very nice room with a balcony, I believe on the 4th floor ,first room immediately to the right of the elevator or stairs.I'd definitely stay there again.

We have stayed at the Romeo and Gulietta and at the Hotel Bologna, both well-located in the old city and reasonably comfortable though not "knock your socks" off hotels.
In Milan, we really like the Starhotel Anderson near the train station and, while the exterior is without charm, the interior is warm and welcoming and the rooms of excellent size and condition.
