I realize we are going to Rome during the season (June), and hotels will be more expensive. I still need some suggestions for a Hotel and can see paying anywhere from 250.00-350.00 Euro. Ther are four of us, my wife and two children 7 and 9.
I have identified six hotels I may choose from. Has anyone had any luck in the following hotels.
Anglo Americano
Hotel Regno
Hotel Victoria
Bailey's
Colonna Palace
Hotel Bolivar
To all who are watching the (Euro's rise) it is on it's way down. Give it some time and I think we will see a correction to at least 110.

Dimitrius -- yours truly spent a week at the Colonna Palace with his lovely wife in Jan 2001.

The Colonna is really well situated pretty much in the heart of things, on a fairly quiet square near an Italian Parliament building. We could walk to the Pantheon/Piazza Navona in about 10 minutes. The busy shopping street Via del Corso is two blocks away.

Our room was large and quiet but needed to be updated -- I understand the hotel has touched things up in recent years. We had a nice breakfast delivered to our room each morning. The Colonna ain't the Intercontinental, but I think you'd like the location better since the top of the Spanish Steps can get to be a bit much.

I see the Colonna has an outdoor pool - I didn't know that, 'course we stayed there in January!

Dimitrius,

Now that you're in that price range, I'd like to go off the board and recommend the Del Senato. We've stayed there twice with our daughters (ages 7 and 10) and loved it both times. It's in the piazza della rotuna, has a wonderful rooftop bar, accomodating staff and decent size quad (ours was room 318). You can check it out through www.venere.com

We also love the del Senato and the location is the best! Great restaurants and you can walk to everything. We never get in a cab-- a walk to the Colosseum or the Vatican is a joy with so much to see and do along the way.
