Hello,

My cousin in Italy has asked for an American cookbook, i.e. BBQ, Southern cooking, Cheasapeake Bay, etc., that is written in the Italian language so she can try American recipes in her home in Italy.

Any suggestions on where to find books like this in the US? I tried the Italian Cultural Society in the Washington DC area and Boarders Books for suggestions but to no avail.

Thanks for any suggestions you can provide.

I can't say whether the cookbook itself is any good, but here is a link to the Internet bookshop italia which lists two titles, the first for African-American soul food, the other for American cooking, traditions, specialties, recipes. Seems as if the second would fit the bill. This is an Italian website where she could order directly, or you could order, have it sent to you (shipping is expensive), and then you could take it to her.

It seems to me that the bookstore below would be a good place to start your research for the subject cookbooks.

THere is a third way to do it: you could order and pay, than have the books shoipped diretly to your friend's house in Italy, saving on shipping expenses ^_^
