Ciao Tutti!

I'll be in Italy (for the 5th time, woohoo) in the next few weeks (yay) and will be spending my last night in Milan because I'm flying home from there.

SO I have 2 questions.

-How early do the subways run on Sunday mornings? I want to take the malpensa express around 7:30 or 8am, and just want to make sure I make it... I'm not interested in taking a taxi because I worry that a taxi, even to the train station, can be 'molto caro'...

-ALSO, I dance Argentine Tango and I'm looking for a tango scene in Milan. I have found some info, but if anyone lives near there and can do a little bit of searching, please let me know... Wink My last night is (obviously) a Saturday night and I'd love to go to a milonga (social dance) if at all possible...

Grazie!

Tina

6 am as usual lines 1 and 2, 6,30 line 3 (I think). Where are you staying? You may not really need a subway ride. Cadorna station is very close to the center of Milano.

I know there is a tango scene, I know ther are milongas and I know there are weekly free tango meetings. I have a couple of frends who dance tango, they may offer more details, and I think I will meet them on Wednesday for our weekly "aperitivo", if I seee them I will ask.

Hi there!

I actually just found a hotel pretty close to the train station so I'll be able to walk...

Definitely let me know if your friends let you in on any tango scene info! Thanks so much for that!

Which train station? Malpensa Express does not leave from Centrale station, it leaves from Cadorna, and Milano has some 15 railway stations belonging to two different lines (Trenitalia, the major national railway, and FNM, which runs Malpensa Express). I am just tryng to make sure that you are lodged mear the right station, because if your hotel is near Centrale station you will need to take subway line 2 (green) for 5 stops: Gioia, Garibaldi FS (which is yet antoher station), Moscova, Lanza and Cadorna.
I will mail you the tango details if I get to see my friends tonight, I a not sure that they will be at the aperitivo, though. In case I will mail them.

Hm, I hadn't thought of that! Thanks! Smile
I'll be near Centrale but last time I was in Milan I was able to take a good (and cheap, yay!) shuttle service to the airport from the Stazione Centrale... So I think I should be ok...
But please let me know if you recommend otherwise (i.e., staying closer to Cardona and taking malpensa express)...
Yay I leave for Siena (where I'll mostly be for a couple of weeks) in... 17 days from now!!!! woohoo!!! Vegetarians!!
Ciao!

No take the Malpensa Shuttle from Centrale ^_^
I was a bit woried because I happen to meet oftene nough foreigners (and sometimes Italians) lost in Stazione Centrale and looking for the train to Malpensa ^____^ Everytime I try to explain hem that Cantrale is not the right station for the Malepsa express, but there is the Malpensa shuttle leaving from it, I see them go from hurried to fearful to hopeful ^____^
