I am taking the risk to be thrown out from this forum for "disobeying orders" (I was asked not to post the newsletter from Veniceword.com anymore) but I just can't help but let everybody at this board know that there are people that love Venice maybe a little bit more than us. Read this:

CURIO. The fact that Henri Robert Clerc, a French citizen, died a few months ago wouldn't
ordinarily be news in Venice. Yet, when his will was read last week, he didn't name a relative as his sole heir. He named Venice. Mr. Clerc wasn't a very rich man, but he was comfortable, owning a French apartment with possessions valued at 357,000 euros. For Venice, obviously, the legacy of the generous French citizen is symbolic, attesting to the city's fame and to the natural forces which threaten it. Under the terms of the will, the municipality must use the inheritance to pay for work dedicated to preserving Venice's
artistic and architectural heritage. Merci, monsieur Clerc.

I just spend here as much money as I can (what else is new, anyway) Wink Gelato

You were NEVERasked not to post the link to Veniceworld. You were asked to only post the link once to each issue rather than one link to every article in order to simplify board housekeeping.

Dear Kim, I am not making this up. Here is the link to the thread where
Pauline says
"I think that everyone who is interested in Venice has by now subscribed to VeniceWord and IT IS TIME TO STOP POSTING LINKS TO THEIR ARTICLES OR COPIES OF THE ARTICLES ON A DAILY BASIS."
Capisci, cara Kim? You can say: Ooops!!!Gelato

Well, I, for one, have enjoyed coming to the board lately on Monday night/Tuesday morning and not seeing the front page cluttered up with articles from the VeniceWord newsletter that I just read.

Pauline's request looks pretty clear to me. Is there something ambiguous about it that is not being understood???

I'm with Holly.

Robert, perhaps you were away when each article was posted separately. It did clutter the board a bit.

Calm down women. I think you are over reacting. To me, it doesn't mean a bit if I post or not the articles from VeniceWord. If this type of small "victories" make you happy, be my guest. Robert, thanks for your support. I wonder why I have been told many times that I have a male mind Wink And, I like it having one. Makes me look Cool and popular among my male friends Razz

And what here contradicted what I said ?? She asked you not to post them on a daily basis (she never said stop posting them) - capisci, cara Nellie - can you say, "Ooops!!!"

Oh and here is your reply from that same thread, "OK Chris. I'll do it for you."

And like in that thread, I'm closing this thread too.
