Mine is currently Camogli. Some places just get to you and this is one of them. I have had a few hours there twice before and now I get to spend a week there in October I really like to go and have coffee at Portofino too and I'm going to climb up and see Castle Brown this time. AnG has given me exact directions. I hope we get to drive to Lerici Leslie.
We will be stopping at one of these for lunch and a quickie explore when we drive from Siena to Acqui Terme (Baur B&B, of course ). Any specific suggestion for a place for lunch that doesn't take you too far off the main route.
I had been thinking Camogli but not really sure. We will be doing this in late June.
Thanks all. Megan, I'm so glad you mentioned Tellaro! I was there in 2000, but afterwards, my purse with camera was stolen by an urchin in Antibes, and I lost track of the memory in the hubbub.
Locanda Miranda is still the best place in town. It's been refurbished into a rather charming B&B. Il Nido is in the process of being redone and has potential. I was hoping to open my own B&B there, but it's now about 3 million euros for a teardown that can only be built so big! Needless to say, it will stay lovely and rustic based on Italian law...
Is there a favorite place to say in Lerici, Megan? Or anyone else? Do boats ferry from Lerici over to Portovenere for day trips?
And, are there villages from which one can boat to Portofino and/or Camogli for day trips? Since I'll have a car, I'm looking for a way to visit them as simply as possible. (I'll be en route to Piemonte, and just want to spend a few hours in each--is there any sane way to do this?)
