I read on enjoy rome site about a train ticket" biglietto chilometrico " $E110 to be used up to 5 people for 3,000 kilometers. Has anyone used these? I am uncertain how this works. We are a group of 4 and plan to do some day trips during our stay in Rome. I am not sure if this is the wayt to go . How or where can I get more information on this?
thanks

The biglietto chilometrico is no longer available. Usually, it is just as economical to go point to point than to purchase a pass. For excellent information on trains, see Trains in Italy pages on SlowTrav written by board member Alice Twain who lives in Italy.
