Hello,
My husband is a pen collector and has purchased a few beautiful leather pen cases ( made in the Florence area ). The cases hold about 24 pens. We would be interested in finding more of these cases when we are in Italy...Aug.9-24th. If anyone could recommend some leather shops with directions it would be very much appreciated. We will have a car as we leave Rome...Aug. 13,Sorrento Aug. 13 & 14,Umbria Aug. 15, Florence Aug. 16,17,18, Vicenza Aug.19, Venice 20,21,22,23,24th. Thanks,
June

Hi June,
There are alot of good leather shops in Florence , especially around Santa Croce. Also a great paper & writing supply store on via Verdi just North of Piazza S. Croce, that may have what you want. Maybe Diva knows more details.

Thankyou Tommaso,
We will certainly check out the writing supply store on via Verdi. We would also be interested in having some of these pen cases custom made if there is a particular craftsman that someone could recommend. My husband is also interested in an orange fountain pen ink, only available in Italy. Thanks again.

There is a spectacularly good leather shop specializing in items for the desk, glasses cases, home office, etc., between the Ponte Vecchio and the Palazzo Pitti on the right side of the street as you walk AWAY from the Ponte Vecchio.

Highly recommend it-- even if only looking!

Thanks CoCo,
We are staying right by the Ponte Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti, so we will look for this shop. My husband is a serious collector and must house his pens in the best! Thanks,
June

Hello,
The cases that I will be looking for are Gigliodoro Pelletterie products. If anyone knows where these are sold in Firenze I would appreciate your help. Also, thank-you to the people who have offered suggestions.
Only seven weeks until we go!

I guess the BEST place to go in Firenze is HERE! There is an e-mail address and you can ask them for the list of stores that carry their goods.

Scandicci is a short ride from Florence, but I would set up an appointment or you could probably write to them and ask who sells their products in Florence. I see there is a contact form on the site.

Thank-you so much Westsider and Diva! This is exactly what we are looking for. There is also another case made by a company called Maestri Pellettieri Adpel, which we need directions to and we have found their website.

you are coming in August when most factory's close down for vacation.. contact them now to see if they will be here!
Or what shops carry their products and then follow up if they will be open!
you will probably be able to save quite a bit with the tax free!
