Just 48 hours to go. We leave Thursday night at 10:30 so 48 hours from now we will be sitting on a plane at Dulles. Assuming our flight is not cancelled due to security or due to air traffic controllers' strikes in France or Italy.

I will be blogging liberally from Italy. Internet points are a great palce to sober up between bottles. I hope to have a bundle of new restaurant reviews and lots of info on new vintages of wine.

Venezia, Montalcino and Roma.

Buon viaggio, Dean! And, echoing Doru, blog liberally! Reading about OP's meals (or reading recipes) is a form of meditation for some of us.

Have a safe trip Dean.....BTW AOL is blocking e-mail coming from Italy (non static IP addresses). Tried to reply to your posting but it bounced back.

Passerotto - AOL will block the emails we send sometimes, too. Just keep re-sending - sometimes we have to send 3-4 times to our guests with AOL accounts, but they eventually go through.

Dean, I will be looking for your posts and blogs. Have a wonderful time. May Bacchus lead you to a secret stash of the most amazing wine you've ever tasted.

In Cefalu, Sicily there is a small enoteca that also has three internet terminals. I have never seen this anywhere else. Hopefully you will be able to find one or more on your trip so that you can enjoy both at the same time.

Have fun!

Bruno Dalmozio in Montalcino has 2 computers with pretty fast connections for customer use. They are free as well!!!!! They also have several large wine dispensing machines, but they were broken on our last trip. Hopefully both will be operational this time around. Of course, if I type while drinking Brunello, I may make more typos. Roll Eyes

Of course. the typos may cancel out my usual atrocious spelling and everything will come out perfectly spelled! Happy

Tomorrow night we will be dining at Antiche Carampane. The rusty Italian was good inough to reserve over the phone. Can't wait for my first Spritz Aperol, probably at Alla Frasca!

If you have room for dessert at Carampane, get a sgroppino - they have a good one there.

For a starter... clams in a spicy broth... YUM.
