I've been searching for reviews of these apartments, and wondered if anyone who has stayed in either can comment on location and comfort. The "Via Sant'Eustachio" apartmentis listed with Sleep in Italy, and is very near the Pantheon. Jewel of Trastevere is independently owned and listed in SlowTrav classifieds. Thanks for any information! Elizabeth

I'm surprised that we don't have any reviews for Jewel of Trastevere. It has been discussed a couple of times on the board and here are a couple of threads discussing the location, etc. that might be helpful.

We don't have any reviews for Via Sant'Eustachio but we do have several reviews for other rentals from Sleep in Italy. I like reviewing other rentals to get information about the agency.

Is this your first stay in Rome? If so, the Pantheon location may be a bit better for seeing the major sites. But there are many fans of Trastevere also on the board for the ambience of the neighborhood.

I am in the process of researching apartments in Rome myself, and this one looks very reasonable and in a great location.

Would appreciate any feedback you have with this agency as, at the moment, I am looking at one through Vacanza Bella, also not reviewed on Slowtrav.

I am adding the Via Sant'Eustachio as a possible to my pile of possibles, but my concern would be how noisy is the location.

My question on this place is how noisy is it? It says its right behind the pantheon, and they have a pic looks like showing the apt right next to it. I cant tell from their map,

Laurie

I love the neighborhood feel of the Trastevere area, but undoubtably the Pantheon site is more central. The noise of a busy neighborhood early in the morning or clatter of the city. Both look like great choices.
One person's noise could be another's music. Shannon

I sent an inquiry about the Via Sant'Eustachio Apt. through Sleep in Italy and they responded that it is booked up during the week in May 2007 we'll be there. I find it a bit alarming that things are already booked a year out -- I thought I was way early in planning.

The apartment they suggest as a default doesn't have AC, which won't work for us!

Eek

Uh-oh, I guess I had better make a quick decision if I want to book October of this year!

Just remember though, May is a busy time. They might still have other weeks available for the apartment just not in May (e.g., Jan - Mar)
