Something happened to our database files on the server (they were corrupted!!) and the message board was down all day - it was not totally down, you could read but not post. That last post from Brian at 5:59am showed us about when it went down.
I emailed our whole 3000 members (just for fun - to say it was down) and got about 160 email rejection notices (old memberships with expired emails).
I checked in on the board many, many times today. I even thought, "Gee, maybe something is wrong with my connect." So I shut down my system and rebooted. Didn't help. Man, this was a good reality check on just how addicted to S/T I am. The upside...I got a lot of real work done.

And here Pauline wuz telling me it was my provider.... And in fact, it sort of was. Always on the ball, they shut the site down while you guys were still on; from being very very bad a few years ago, they've now become very security-conscious. My provider didn't like InfoPop's previous fixes, but has now vetted the new set-up.
I checked in today and realized that there must be a problem with no recent posts, but I didn't get an e-mail from you. I do hope that I'm still a member in good standing, as you and all the other Slow Travelers have been such a tremendous resource to us!
We're still working on some aspects of our upcoming trip to Italy. Have rented a villa from Tuscan House, have reserved rooms at La Calcina in Venice and have two cars reserved with AutoEurope. BUT, we're still checking daily for an open jaw ticket-ATL-FCO, VCE-ATL. We're leaving Sept 10 and returning Sept 29.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks, Linda

A lot of spam filters keep out the emails that come from the message board. If your email bounces and you have not been active on the board in over a year (meaning you were not logged in once during the year), then I might delete your membership. I go thru every now and then and clean up the member list.
If your email bounces but you have been online in the last year, I set your email to "not verified" so the next time you log in you are asked for your email (at least I think that is what happens).
