My sisters and I will be renting a car from this company in Rimini in April and using it to take day trips to Umbria. We will be staying with family in Riccione and will visit our Grandmother's birthplace in Umbria and do some exploring. Has anyone had any experience with this company?? Does our itinerary seem doable - we will be visiting Sigillo and the immediate surrounding area.

I wish I had found this website six months ago when we were planning our trip. It has a wealth of information!!

Sorry for just spotting this now; once something gets bumped from Page 1, it's done for!

Rimini or Riccione as a base for multiple daytrips to Umbria is quite impractical, even if admittedly Sigillo is in the nearest possible corner. The little valley of the Chiascio in Umbria, and that of the Burano on the Marche side, are quite beautiful, very peaceful, and full of stuff to see. There are a few agriturismi and even hotels in the area (at Cantiano, Cagli in the Marche; at Costacciaro and Fossato in Umbria, and possibly in Sigillo — I didn't check): why not stay there rather than trek over from Rimini?

I have not heard of this car rental company. Have you compared prices with our affiliate AutoEurope?

See our Information about renting a car.

Welcome to the board! I am going change your thread title so people see that you are asking questions about your itinerary too.

I second Bill in recommending you to try to explore Marche rather than Umbria form Rimini. You have to count on over two hours of slow drive through the mountains to get anywhere close to the better known towns in Umbria

Letizia, it's not clear — at least, not to me — whether the original poster has an interest in Umbria per se, or, as I suspect, just in Sigillo, which, as it were, just happens to be in Umbria (at the very edges of it). But even for the Sigillo corner, it does seem odd to daytrip from Rimini.

(Actually, if truth be told, it seems odd to stay in Rimini for any reason, although I've done it myself, at least twice. . . . Riccione rather than Rimini, and then staying with one's family, makes it all much nicer, of course.)

Bill, it is funny how the Marche gives the feeling of being made by two worlds, isn't it?
A wild rural and timeless landscape inland, even more lonely in some stretches than Umbria and then the crowds and mass-fried fish of the coast. However, I have been on the coast of Marche last year after very long time, and I must say that I found the people very friendly and hospitable.
