I am planning a trip to Sicily the first week of Sept and wanted opinions or suggestions on my itinerary.
We fly into Catania and plan on using buses and trains for travel. We plan on spending the first night either in Rispoto or Sant'alessui Siculo or Taormina or Giardini Naxos(can you tell I am having a tough time)? From there I would like to go to Cefalu for 3-4 days and I am trying to decide if staying on the beach is the way to go or not? Then off to Palermo for the last to days with visits to Monreale and Erice.
Then I don't know if we should take a plane or Ferry to Naples. Air Malta has very cheap flights and I am a bit nervous that bad weather on the water may delay Ferry passage.
Has anyone found or stayed in any Monestaries on Sicily?
